Sopka Buntina Deposit (Green Ray)

“Sopka Buntina” deposit is located on the Arctic Circle in a half of kilometer from “Nigrozero” deposit. The deposit is situated on a hill slope. The total square of the deposit is 4,10 hectares. The explored reserves of stones are 1 010,0 thous. m3.

The extraction is being carried out with diamond wire-sawing technology. The similar quarrying conditions and close location to “Nigrozero” deposit give an opportunity to remove stuff and machines from quarry to quarry.

The extraction is seasonal from April for November.

“Sopka Buntina” Green piroxenite

“Sopka Buntina” green pyroxenite (“Green Ray”) is a highly-ornamental hard rock which is not fully appraised by the customers. At the same time its popularity is increasing rapidly. The color of the stone is even green with false iridescence of different intensity. The oblong shaped crystals are of big and medium dimensions and differently oriented. In combination with various directions of sawing and different face finishing all these give an opportunity to get numerous variations of color intensity and intensity of face shape.Due to these features “Green Ray” is an advantaged material for facade coating, interiors, ornamental wall panels and architectural details, funerary.
